Honey, shells and bamboo

Honey, shells and bamboo

art direction, video production, set design, motion design

Wildeburg festival is surreal, sexy and beyond grasp. Whoever doesn’t get it, is struck out. Those who do get it cannot wait to re-enter that special place where time and space evaporate. Wildeburg knows no walls or confines, only the synthesis of phantasm and nature. That essence, that feeling, had to be visually recorded.

The unnerving suspense in wait of the festival’s next edition is the concept behind the promotional video. All the characters appear to be lifted straight from the festival. Their fanatic life style is inspiring and absurd, artistic and unheard. Set design, styling, art direction, edit and sound design all seamlessly come together to unravel something unreal.

Honey hourglass

The tiring waiting is symbolically projected through an hourglass that oozes honey instead of sand.

Likewise, many surreal aspects of the story have been turned into physical props and sets.

Honey, shells and bamboo are no random substances. They can be found at the festival’s location and furthermore symbolically represent life elixir, beauty and music.
